This is unphysical, since in nature the atmospheric pressure decreases exponentially with height. Taking this into account increases computation time, since it requires a greater part of the atmosphere to be involved (where about 6 times of the scale height is enough) and this respectively requires more integration points within the air. As an side effect, this makes the cloud layer look more three-dimensional. Of course, other scale lengths reveil different clouds. |
